About My Topic

My topic is about air pollution.

This issue interests me because I don't like to see human beings pollute the air we breath and I want to find some way to stop people from polluting the air we need to live with.

I want people to learn that polluting the air is a very bad thing for our environment and how much it can damage our earth because I want them to learn how it is not only affecting our environment and our planet but ourselves, them selves.

This issue needs to be addressed because there's people out there that don't even care that our Earth and our lives are at risk because of air pollution.

March of the Penguins

1.) The challenge the penguins have to overcome is the storms and trying to keep warm of themselves and their unborn young.

2.) Their habitat challenges their livelihood by them not knowing when a storm will come or when ice will melt.

3.) An adaptation that the penguins have to make is to grow thicker coats in order for them to stay warm and survive the harsh winters.

4.) There is a time in where there is no sunlight because of the position the earth is in the universe. The earth is tilted and will cause the temperature to drop.

* It is important that the ground must be frozen solid because the penguins do not want their new born chicks to fall in to the water and drown or freeze to death.

What I learned from my choice of games and genres is that they can both be fun and educational for everyone.

Name any game features that stood out to you, either because they were interesting or because they could be improved.

A game that could be improved is Phylo because it does not give enough details on what to do and because it is confusing. I mean I dont understand the game and what to do.

Do Puzzles and Mazes have to be like a setting were you have to get out of something or can it involve critical thinking too.? And, do racing games have to involve racing or can it be something that has a time limit.?

Sports and racing games always involve something active like for example soccer. basketball. baseball, and volley ball, people, obstacles. In most games you are timed and have to complete a certain amount of something in that time.

Strategy games are usually based on critical thinking and, of course, strategy. Also usually, the player needs to have a plan. Like for example the in the magic pen, you need to figure out what to do in order to get the ball to the flag and how to do it.

Puzzle and maze games are usually games that you have to find your own way out of something or you need to figure something out. They can also be games that involve putting things together to get another thing. These kind of games are made to get you "puzzled" and make you find out what to do next.

that you have to find yourself a way out but the thing is that you can only see is around the robot.

The way you play this game is that you have to find a way out of the maze. But you have time though. On your way, you will find a paper that will let you see the whole maze and figure out how to get out of the maze and it shows you the other objects you can get in order to get out and to give you more time if you need it.

An adventure game consists of a control theme or story that the player must navigate through to accomplish the gameplay. There may be some action in an adventure game or a quest to find clues or solve a mystery. The player is not necessarily required to have fast reflexes, but be more apt at planning and carefully thinking about accomplishing a task or beating a challenge to win the game.

Save the Animals because it taught me that because of boats, their oils are dripping into the ocean and the animals are getting covered in the oil and they are dieing about it.

Is Survivor. It taught me that the Holocaust was a terrible thing back then.

They untangled the structure of a protein that could be used to get rid of AIDS on humans.

What can critical thinking do for science.?

Critical thinking can help find things out but it requires alot of critical thinking.

Was it hard to make your Mini Game.?

For me at first it kind of was but when I had problems uploading or anything i had to start every thing all over and since I had already done it it was easier.

What was the best part of this topic.?

The best part of the topic was putting the wolf on the screen and making it send the bunny back to where it started when they would hit.

What was the worst.?

The worst was adding the code because coding is always hard and confusing for me, especially when we have to modify it so it would work the way we need or want it to.

How old were you on Sept 11, 2001?

When the accident happened I was 4 years old.

When did you first learn about the attacks and who explained the events to you?

I think I first learned about the attack when I was in like 2nd grade. My teacher was the one that explained what had happened. But to tell you the truth I dont really remember that well.

What kind of impacts did these attacks have on your life or your parents lives?

Well I didn't know about the attack until 2nd grade so it didnt really have a big impact on me or my mother because shes not from here. My dad I don't really know because I never talked to him about it nd he never brought it out.

9/11 Video Game Creates Fresh Outrage

What was the issue in the game?

The distruction on the World Trade Center.

How do you feel about it?

I feel like depressed, mad, and furious because their practically making fun of the destruction that happened in 9/11 and about the people that died helping others.

What is the problem with portraying on such an awful violent event through a video game?

The problem is that its bad because there were a lot of people in the towers and they think its ok to make a violent game about it. Its not fun because their making fun of all the people that died. There even little kids there that died too!

How can you make sure that your web game tells the whole story or teach a lesson in a horrible way?

I think I could make it an apropiat game by making it as a firefighter or a regullar person helping the others inside the Twin Towers with no violence.

'Single Story'

What does it mean to have a 'single story' about a place or community?

To have a 'Single Story' is to have an opinion on some thing that you know anything about or have any facts about the place. To say things about it and not know it at all.

Describe a single story you have heard told about your community. What is missing from that story? How could people learn more about that community?

People that dont live in the East Austin think that EVERYONE that lives here are criminals. thugs, robbers, and a lot of other things that we are not. People think that students from this side of Austin will not be eligablr to go to college because either they think we are going to drop out or just go to high school and not want to go to college and get an education.

Describe a single story you have heard about another community. How did you learn that story? How could you find out more about that community?

Lets talk about the North Side of Austin. People think that everyone in the north side of austin is rich or have really good jobs or have enough money to buy a big house and that they are snobby people. I learned this from hearing people in my community and my family and even at the mall. But i could find out for my self if this is true by like spending a day on the North Side of Austin and find out if they really are rich and have big houses and are snobby like they say.

How could a game let players experience many stories about a place or community?

A game could let its players experience many stories about a place or communities by comparing them with other communities and contrasting them.

At first Taylor thinks Clicksters is cool.

The family situation in Taylors life is that her dad left her mom for a younger women who was like 20 years old.

Taylor has friends that are fake because one of them (Shyane) is being called a skank and tells Taylor to not hang around her anymore and the other friend (Smantha) creates a fake profile page of a boy and says things about Taylor.

4.)When does the bullying begin?

The bullying begins when Taylor's brother hacked in to Taylor's Clickters page and posted a nasty comment aboout her.

5.)What is the result of cyberbulying Taylor experiences?

The result of Taylor being cyberbulled ended up with her wanting to commit suicide.

6.)What type of cyberbulying does Taylor experience?

The type of cyberbullying that Taylor experiences is impersonation.

7.)What would you do if you were in Taylors shoes?

If i was in Taylors shoes, i would exacly what my mom would have told me to do and i would save time and all the drama and sadness going on. And i would have never come to the thought of suicide.

The way Taylor reacts to all the mean comments about her is that at first she does nothing and just sits there but the she calles Lindsey a bad word.

Taylor does try to do something to stop the insults. She confronts Lindesy and her friends at the school cafeteria and others helped Taylor too.

I think the way Taylor felt about her friends betraying her is bad and with a lot of anger at her friends.

The kind of changes i see Taylor experience through the film is that she finally stands up for her and other people that were bullied by Lindesy.

What is a cyberbully?
Some one who picks on you, harsess you by technology such as the internet, textmesseges, e-mail, etc.

What are trhe different types of cyberbullying?
Gossip, impersonate. exculde, threaten.

What should you do if your being cyberbullied?
Tell a trusted adult, ignore the messeges, and dont send back messeges because thats all they want.

What are some reasons that people cyberbully others?
Some reasons why people cyberbully are because in their past they probably were cyberbullied themselves and they cyberbully others to feel good about them selves. Another reason why people cyberbully is becuse they want power over others.

We have completed all of our scenes. That incudes our 4 levels, our win page, and our lose page. All we have to do is just add the win and lose pages to the end of the game and we are done!

ICIVICS

The site teaches us, the students, about things about the government and how its system and laws and all of those things work. The ting i like about the website is that it teaches the whole purpose of it is to like teach people from the United States about the freedom of rights we have here in the United States. Well at least thats what I think about the site and I liked it too. I played a game that was on the website. Its called Argument Wars. It tought me about freedom and rights we have here in the United States.

CELEBERTY GAMES

At the end of this year if I have a good enough game I will TRY to sell it. I will also TRY to attach a celeberty in to my game but their going to be the GOOD GUY and NOT the BAD GUY. But if I can attach the celeberty to my game it will probably be Mike Tyson or really i dont know but i know that my game is going to be awesome with the celeberty in it. I will market my game probably in the internet but i dont know in what web page or anything like that. So thats what im going to do when i finish my game but only if its good enough.

Disaster in Japan

WOW!! It looks like the tsunami made a lot of damage in Japan and killed millions of people. I think that the students in Massachusetts are doing a very nice thing for the people in Japan by rasing money for them and a lot of it. It's amazing because last year they raised over 6,000 dollars and this year they raised 300 dollars in one day. We should do somehing like that to help them too. Like for example we can have fun rasers to raise money or we can have a little carnival with activities and moon walks and things like that to raise money.

PSP NGP

I think this PSP is Awesome. It's a touch screen and you can use the back in the games when you play. It looks like it's going to be the next big thing and that it will be really popular. It must cost over $200-$500. It seems like a very fun, amazing, and fortuneinte thing to have. Thats why i'm going to TRY to get it no matter how much it is. This PSP is AMAZING and i hope to get one soon.

Mad Hot Ballroom

What does the word "Teamwork" mean to you?
The word Teamwork to me means when people work together as a team and agree with eachothers ideas and if they dont they can put them together or do something else and they will also respect everyone else.

How do you see these students trying to work together?
I see these students trying to work together by dancing together and being nice to each other no matter where they are from and be friends.

How important was teamwork for these students?
Working as a team is important to these students because in order to win that compstition then they will have to have been working together and as hard as they can to complete their goal to win the BIG trophy at least once.

What do you think is the main message that these students should take away from this experience?
I think the main message that the students should take away from this experience is that if you work in a team, reapect each other, agree with each other you can accomplish the goal your going for.

How will you work together with your teammates in this class?
I will work together with my teammates in this class by working as a team and to try to put all of our ideas together so everyone could have their ideas incorporated in the game or in whatever we are working on and will be nice and respect my teammates.

NOTES
-This documentary is a true story based on studrnts that work together to learn how to dance and to try their very best to win a dancing compotition. This hapned in 1994 in New York City, Mahattan, and Brooklyn. The schools they have there have no names. The names they go for are Public School #1, #2, #3, etc. They are prctecing to compete in a dance compotition. The students are learning about all kinds of dances, for example tango, salsa, etc.

Jimmy was walking down the highway because he was going to California.
What is the problem that the little boy, Jimmy, has?
The problem that the little boy Jimmy has is that he is a truamatize boy and has a ploblem with biulding and stacking.
Jimmy likes to stack and build things. How does this relate to video games?
This realates to video games because in video games you actually build the video game and it helps you make the video game. And because back then you would build the tingns to make the images.
Playing video games seems to help Jimmy feel better. Why do you think this is?
I think this because it takes his mind off his sister.
What makes him such an awesome video game player?
What makes him such an awesome player is his sister that he is thinking of and helps him move on in the game and he probably does it for her.

If I could incorporate some of this game play in one of my games I would because it would be fun for the player to play a game with that. Lilke the game Crayon Phisics, that game was unbelieveable and amazing just to look at. I can imagine how coll it would be if we played it in class someday. The way I would do this is that I would have to get help from my teahcer first and then do it by myself, if I can, if not I would try and try and try until I get it and then i would make my own game simmilar like that but different.

Google Sience Fair

My thoughts of the vedeo so far is that i think that the google science fair is a good idea and it sound like a very fun thing to do. i think it would be fun for anyone that loves science and loves making experiments. because of that i see myself entering the science fair because i am one of those people that loves science and making expiraments. it seems fun to compete with people from all around the world. that will be so amazing. i also see my self not entering the fair because it looks like its going to be hard to find something that will be in atleast the semifinalists or even t win. i might not even enter the science fair because i love science but im not really that good at it. i dont know how to hopothisis something or observe and i am not creative like other people are. i dont have any ideas for now but i will have some later. but if i enter the fair, my ideas will envolve architecture or something else.
